Inspiration for medieval/renaissance costumes

I watched some of the new season of Doctor Who and I really love Clara. But this post is not really about her, so much as her costumes. Her costumes are great! I love flawy dresses. Always have, and this is the quintessential beautiful dress.

Of course I would like to have this in blue or green maybe. the shine on the velvet fabric they use is amazing. The embroidery on the sleeve and bottom of the dress would take me forever. 

Then again she looks amazing in red and orange.

I love the puffed sleeves on this too. It's just so feminine and pretty. 

Doesn't it make you want to sew something flow-y and pretty for yourself? It does me.
